Keeping German Song and Spirit Alive Since 1864
The Männergesangverein Germania (Germania Men’s Choir) was founded in 1864, making it the cornerstone of what would later become the Germania Club of Hamilton. Originally formed to preserve the German language and cultural heritage through song, the choir remains one of the oldest and most cherished traditions of the club.
In 1935, women’s voices joined the ensemble, and the group evolved into a mixed-voice choir, performing together as well as in separate men’s and women’s choruses. Today, the Germania Choirs continue to share the beauty of German choral music with the broader community.
